I think this website is Excellent

As I huge fan of the series I was wondering if anyone knows where it is possible to view the scripts from the show on the net? Been searching everywhere but can't find anything - but in the immortal words of Fletch - "Don't let the b******s grind you down!" Cheers.

I found out what I was looking for, what ever happened to Richard Beckinsale.  Now I know a heart attack at only 31 in 1979, 7 years before I was born.

The full series of Porridge are playing here in New Zealand now on our UKTV pay channel.  The episodes are hilarious, and it is a pleasure to watch such classical and brilliant British Comedy.  Ronnie Barker was a genius without doubt, and it is great to see such humour still popular today.  The main difference betwwen American humour and British humour is that British humour never apologises for the subject matter - Porridge is a great example of this - may it live for ever!

I have the Porridge Series and Christmas Special but would love the first episode Prisoner and Escort and Going Straight.  I am here in Singapore, anyone got any suggestions of where I can get these and if they exist on video and DVD.  Love the programme, just wish they had made more!  Two teenage daughters hooked too.

I just wanted to say that Curtis Watts is using your site to research and ask me silly questions about Porridge and he'd better get on with some work and not waste time like this!  I know more about the episodes than he ever will so he'd best concede defeat now.  In fact he's rubbish.  Ya boo sucks !

Helena, Going Sraight is on UK Gold starting tomorrow night (April 27).  I only found out tonight it existed.  Hoping to try get it on video.  In the episodes section it says Prisoner & Escort is available on the series 2 DVD but I have that and it isn't on it. Note from porridge Webmaster.  On the Series 2 DVD of Porridge, the episode "Prisoner & Escort" appears in the special features menu.  Here is the proof:

Thank you soooooo much for the recording of "free inside" what a song, I am a total fletch fanatic! =), re; helena, I watched Porridge growing up and it was only recently I even heard about Going Straight, I had to have it, I watched it with dread "how could it be as good?", after one episode, I had the same warm feeling, it was like I had more fletch I never knew existed, like he'd never been away, altho slightly bleaker, fletch is still fletch, with godber, mclaren, mackay and ingrid in episodes it almost makes up for not having the rest of the nick with him, and watch out for nicholas lyndhurst (superb as young raymond), and btw gr8 site, i will be back =)

Fantastic website.  Can someone tell me which episode the following dialogue was in: [Godber] - You really get up my goat sometimes Fletcher. [Fletch] - No Godber, I may get your goat, I might get up your nose, I may even get on your wick, but I do not get up your goat. I love that line. Genius. Note from porridge Webmaster.  Those lines were taken from the movie of Porridge.
